Increasingly, research has proven that hypnosis has helped over 80-95% of those treated. The improvement is lasting with clients reporting freedom from symptoms when followed up after two years.
While hypnosis for IBS treatment has the greatest success rate (Cognitive therapy can also be helpful), hypnosis for IBS offers some additional benefits:
Hypnosis treatment is easy and enjoyable. You just sit back and relax
There are no negative side effects
Treatment often leads to improvement of other (stress related) problems.
What to Expect After Treatment
Dee Nicholles had spent thousands during the eight years she suffered with IBS:
I have had IBS for the past eight years. During that time I have seen several private specialists. I have had all kinds of tests. They have inserted cameras, I have been X-rayed, squashed between two plates, given barium enemas. I have been on exclusion diets but nothing has really had a great impact on the IBS. Nobody could give me a clear answer.
IBS is a difficult condition to deal with because it goes up and down, you never know what it is going to do next. It does not follow an even pattern. You cannot say, It is when I eat a certain thing... logic does not seem to have any bearing on it at all.
Yet now it has gone! This is like a gift. I cannot estimate how precious this is. What a difference it has made to my life. Previously it controlled me. Every time I planned to go anywhere or do anything. For example driving to Spain and back was a total nightmare.
Now, I do not seem to have any problems. It has gone. Not bothering me at all now. I also I feel more energetic. I do not get back aches so much, nor any of the other aches either. I just generally feel healthier all round.
I think the relaxation is very important. I find that I am much more relaxed than I used to be. I am much more laid back. It has made me much more relaxed.

Sue Rennie (Ex-Licensee, from Sutton Coldfield had lived with Irritable Bowl Syndrome (IBS) for many years.
Sue was very sceptical about hypnosis because she had gone to another hypnotherapist about six times in the past for weight-loss and it had not worked for her. She had also tried hypnosis to give up smoking and that had not worked for her either.
Sue not only quit smoking in her very first session she also took back control over her eating habit. Her IBS completely settled down after her first session. The system we have devised for her will ensure her IBS is always kept in check from now on.
I have had irritable bowl for many many years which caused me a lot of trouble. The irritable bowel has been vastly improved, I have had no problems with it at all this week, which again is absolutely wonderful for me. I am very very happy. I do not know what else to say, I am very happy. I would certainly recommend hypnosis.

Debbie Hughes (Manager), Erdington
Debbie was diagnosed with an intolerance of wheat based products. She had a compulsion to eat all of the things she knew were bad for her and ended up getting terribly bloated in the process. She had tried everything including the NHS and nothing had worked for her so she came to us in desperation.
After the very first session Debbie found herself eating more sensibly. She found it easy to cut out all wheat based products and the bloating has gone.
I have suffered from a wheat intolerance which has caused problems and has made me feel ill for a long time. Since the first session I've had no cravings for bread or any wheat products and I've lost 3lbs already. The bloating has gone. Stomach is a lot flatter and a feel better in myself.
When I'd been to the doctor asking them about my condition they just gave me medication which just made the problem worse.
